ADDITIONAL COSTS
The fee structure outlined above does not include all the costs associated with being on the VSA Heat for a typical season. Listed below are examples of costs that you may have to pay extra for:
Uniforms and warm-ups are not included in the dues. The uniform costs about $70 for the full kit, and the warm-ups cost about $100. We buy new uniforms every two years.
Tournament Travel - this can get expensive, particularly if you want to take your whole family along. Our families approach this in a variety of ways. Some families attend all of the tournaments, while others will attend a few and send their daughters along with another family for the others. Some families will get their own rooms, while others might share. No matter your circumstance, you can generally find a way to minimize your costs. Travel, lodging and food costs are the responsibility of each individual family.
State Cup and Regional Tournaments - if we are fortunate enough to advance to State Cup, Regional or National Championships you can expect to travel across Virginia, Region 1 and the U.S and these travel and incidental costs do add up.
OUR GOAL
The VSA Heat provides a year-round framework for the serious soccer player. We have set a very lofty goal of being the best in the nation and winning the USYS National Tournament.
OUR CONCEPT
We want our players to learn discipline, teamwork and organization through a structured program (and by the way, they'll become a great soccer player in the process). The players are required to wear the same clothing to practice (shirts provided free of charge), dress alike when traveling, and keep their cleats and other uniform parts clean and presentable. Practices are mandatory, but you will find that the girls love to go.
We are not necessarily looking for college scholarships (though they are a welcome side benefit), but rather want our players to eventually exit the program with a strong sense of self esteem, the ability to take on future challenges with confidence and great memories!
Marching into a full stadium in the US Youth Soccer Regional Tournament opening ceremonies representing the State of Virginia is a memory most kids will never forget!

OUR ACTIVITIES
The VSA Heat play in the Washington Area Girls Soccer League (WAGS) in the Fall, the Region 1 Premier League in the Spring, and the USYS National League over the Winter.
We train three days a week during the seasons, attend team camps in the summer and participate in Futsal training in the winter. We play in six to eight competitive tournaments throughout the year, with at least four of them out of the Washington DC area.
We participate every year in the Virginia State Cup competition and the regional and national competitions should we qualify.
